UniSport Australia is the peak governing body of university sport in Australia 

UniSport Australia (UniSport) is the peak governing body of university sport in Australia. We promote and foster the importance of university sport as an integral part of university life at 43 member universities, who collectively represent more than one million students nationwide. UniSport has expanded its traditional offerings over recent times and now delivers University multisport Events, Leagues and Tournaments and facilitates international tours; operates the Australian Masters Games and is contracted to deliver the next World Masters Games.  

About the Role:

The Communications & Marketing Manager, in collaboration with the CEO, will develop and implement the annual UniSport Marketing and Communications Strategy, focusing primarily on UniSport events.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver annual UniSport marketing and communications plans.
  • Create content and execute marketing deliverables.
  • Ensure marketing initiatives are professional and align with operational/marketing plans and budgets.
  • Conduct market research and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the UniSport brand and corporate identity through digital marketing initiatives.
  • Inform and support staff on key marketing and communications activities.
  • Report on marketing activities and ensure key performance goals are met.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

Applicants should address the following criteria in their application:

  • Experience in the sport environment
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant fields or extensive practical experience
  • Minimum of three years in a similar role
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (or other creative platforms) and Canva
  • Experience with website content management systems (e.g., Wix)
  • Strong copywriting skills for creating engaging content across various platforms
  • Ability to develop and implement digital marketing plans with limited budgets
  • Experience managing social media channels to grow audience and engagement
  • Ability to interpret and report on digital analytics to enhance campaign performance
  • (Desirable) Knowledge of the university sporting sector and the Australian sporting environment
