Dragon Boats New South Wales (DBNSW) is the State Sporting Organisation (SSO) for Dragon Boating. We currently have over 3,000 diverse and vibrant members stretching from Ballina to Jindabyne, and every water way in between across 60+ affiliated clubs. As a governing body we are responsible for ensuring our clubs and members adhere to our ethical guidelines, while executing first-class, innovative events to cater to all our members across the state, as well as delivering a community based event as part of the official Lunar New Year celebration.

As the Program & Events Coordinator you will be responsible for planning and implementing state event projects, including reviewing, and evolving our event offering to ensure we are delivering exceptional experiences to our members.

You will be based in our Sydney Olympic Park Office, alongside our management team and be provided the support to execute your role autonomously.  

Your duties will include:

• Leading the development and execution effective state managed events, including providing administrative support of DBNSW events and programs.
• Delivering the Lunar New Year event on Sydney Harbour that caters to both corporate teams and our DBNSW community.
• Producing timely event reports with relevant data analysis and insights, suitable for internal or external stakeholders.
• From the CEO to our volunteers and those in between, you will be managing a range of meaningful stakeholder relationships relating to the management of events and programs.
• Executing events within budget and sharing your informed insights on the development of our annual budget and strategic plan to ensure we can deliver first-class events.
• Driving enthusiasm and passion for our sport, including promoting Dragon Boating with the aim to grow participation throughout NSW.

We're interested in hearing from people who:

• Have demonstrated experience and qualifications in sports or event management.
• Have a strong understanding of events management, including work health and safety, risk management, budget management and compliance requirements relating to the delivery of events.

This is a full-time role with a normal week of 38 hours. However, due to the nature of this industry, some work outside of regular working hours (including evenings and weekends) will be required. This includes working at all DBNSW regattas during the season.
